Mike D. LLPC, CADC-DP

I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health in May 2026 from Central Michigan University. I originally attended CMU in 2011 where I obtained a degree in Sports Administration and Athletic Coaching. My background was in sports performance but I eventually switched and began working for the Washtenaw County Sheriffs Office and Havenwyck Hospital which began my journey to becoming a licensed clinician. Beyond my master’s degree and licensure, I am dedicated to continuing education and am currently beginning further certification in both couples counseling and sports psychology.

I strive to serve as many populations as possible including adolescents, adults, couples. I specialize in care for a range of mental health issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief/loss, heavy life transitions, and sports performance. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and trauma-informed care, emphasizing the use of uncovering the client’s strengths to foster a growth mindset in sessions.

I place a strong emphasis on teamwork within the therapeutic relationship, viewing clients as active partners in their own growth and healing. I always strive to bring a positive, encouraging energy into each session while maintaining a space where my clients feel safe to explore difficult emotions and experiences. My goal is to foster an environment where individuals feel comfortable both being themselves and discovering who they want to become.
